Fire pit, Pet Friendly, Fireplace, Decks, Views

Tucked into the trees yet just minutes from downtown West Jefferson, Shady Oak Hideaway is the kind of place you settle into and don't want to leave — cozy, modern, and quietly cool. It's made for couples, a small family, or two couples who want privacy, comfort, and a little friendly competition.

Step inside to an open kitchen-living-dining space under soaring vaulted ceilings — bright, airy, and warm all at once. Sink into the reclining sofas (cup holders included) for movie night by the glow of the electric fireplace, fire up the PS5, or pour something from the bar cart. When the mood is slower, there's a deep stack of board games to pull from.

Outside is where this home really shines. Relax on the front and back decks with comfortable seating, gather around the wood firepit as the evening cools — then head back inside to the electric fireplace and reclining sofas when you're ready to warm up. Take in the seasonal mountain views through the trees, and let the yard do the rest: cornhole, archery, soccer, and more lawn games mean there's always something to do.

Sleep & space: The primary suite features a king bed, a private full bathroom, and a walk-in closet. The guest bedroom has a full bed and a TV, with an attached bathroom that's also accessible from the living area. A dedicated laundry room, central AC, and a large parking area round out the comforts. And yes — it's pet-friendly, so the whole family can come along.

Surrounded by trees for privacy but close to town for everything you came for — galleries and murals, local breweries and restaurants, the New River, and Mount Jefferson — Shady Oak is the easy, cool, cozy basecamp for your High Country getaway.
